My Personal Experience

I am often asked in my role as a community physiotherapist to assess people and advise the best mobility aid for them.

Everyone has different needs based on their strength, balance, co-ordination and the practicalities of using a walker.

I first used the Days 106 Lightweight Folding 4 Wheel Rollator Walker with a lady at the end of February.

Her daughter had bought the walker for her after a friend suggested getting one. The walker was quick, easy to assemble and lightweight.

The walker needed little effort to push, even over a threshold step and ramp incline in and out of the property. However, it felt sturdy and secure at all times when walking, especially on the windy day we tried it.

The brakes are also ingenious as they work on a squeeze to slow and push to lock basis. The handles are comfortable, and have a shark fin device that effectively widens the grip for people with dexterity issues, as with the lady who had rheumatoid arthritis in her fingers.

We tried using the walker on a slight incline to assess how well the brakes worked when the lady was sitting on it, and at no time did it feel unsafe or unsteady. In addition the curved back support was comfortable.

Inside the property the walker was easy to navigate from room to room, and around furniture, and its ability to fold away when not in use was a useful feature.

What Other People are Saying

Pros

  1. Excellent solid product, sturdy and ideal. My mother feels safer walking with it and the seat is handy if she needs to rest. Easy to unfold and not too heavy to lift into the car. Highly recommend.

  2. Good steady walker, lots of support. Love the independence it gives me.

  3. Very stable and easy to put up and down. Useful item which serves its purpose perfectly. Lightweight.

  4. Brilliant. I have in fact bought 2 – one to use in the house as I can manage to scoot about the kitchen whilst sitting in it, and the other stays in the car. It helps me get around much quicker than just using my crutches (I have severe osteoarthritis) The bonus is that I can sit and rest as and when needed.

  5. 4.7 out of 5 on Amazon reviews of product.

Cons

  1. This is a really good folding walker. My only criticism is that as my mother uses it indoors, the brake cables can get caught up on furniture. The simple answer was to use electrical tape to secure the cables to the bars. Perhaps the manufacturer should re-think this part of the design.

  2. The seat could do with a bit more padding, but otherwise a very easy seat to sit on and use as it has a compartment under the seat which is ample for your everyday items like, keys, drinks bottle, tablets, phone etc.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a sturdy but lightweight walker that is easy to set up and fold away for storage, or when transporting, then I highly recommend you take a look at the Days 106 Lightweight Folding 4 Wheel Rollator.

With its comfortable ergonomic shaped grip handles, it is so easy to manoeuvre and takes the strain and pain out of walking.

It is ideally suited for different sized users and gives you increased confidence with your day to day activities.

I have spent a lot of time researching where to buy the Days 106 Lightweight Folding 4 Wheel Rollator Walker and so far the best place to buy it is Amazon.

This walker offers everything you need in a lightweight 4 wheeled rollator, and will give you lots of use and pleasure in the years ahead.

This is perfect timing! My dad has Parkinson’s and his walking is getting very hard. He uses a cane, but he really needs a walker which he does have at home…in Alaska. He just visited me for 4 months, and I couldn’t go anywhere with him, because frankly he has a hard time walking. So I think this is a great idea to have this for when he visits. Thanks!

Hi Mark, it certainly seems as though this is an ideal walker. It has many pros that outweigh the cons. Thanks for your site as I know the devastation that a fall can have on an elderly person, physically and emotionally.

Thanks for your feedback Melissa. The Days Lightweight Folding 4 Wheel Rollator is ideal for someone less mobile to help increase their independence and manage daily activities a lot easier.

My grandmother has the Days 106 Lightweight Folding 4 Wheel Rollator Walker and can attest that it stands up to the claims the manufacturers say and what the reviews say online about it. Thank you for this great review, Mark! Your article attracted my attention due to my friend’s son problem, who is not able to move. As far as I can see, the Days 106 Lightweight Folding 4 Wheel Rollator Walker is a great product, but, not for his case… unfortunately. Could you suggest some walking support devices for difficult cases?

    Thank you in advance,
    Vesna

    • Mark

Vesna, thanks for your comments. There are so many factors that can affect a person’s mobility such as strength, balance, co-ordination, medication, and their past medical history to name but a few. it is very difficult to suggest an appropriate aid for your friend’s son without knowing more about him.
If you take a look at my web page ‘Mobility Aids and the Elderly’ it will highlight the many different aids and equipment available, and perhaps ask your friend to get in touch with me and I will try and help her further.
